Born in 1998, I have been immersed in the world of fine arts from an early age, sketching fashion designs and caricatures that earned me awards during my primary school years. My artistic journey initially reflected a Western perspective, but moving to Berlin inspired me to reconnect with my roots and explore the rich traditions of Ottoman arts and culture.
Guided by my ceramic and tile artist mother, Cemile, I began practicing Ebru, the ancient art of water marbling, after completing my Fashion studies. This practice became a bridge between my heritage and my contemporary artistic expression.Through Ebru, I discovered an abstract language that intertwines the fluidity of water, the vibrancy of color, and the meditative process of creation. My work seeks to harmonize the timeless traditions of Anatolia with the dynamic energy of modern art, creating pieces that resonate with both history and innovation.
Based in Berlin and Istanbul, I have participated in exhibitions and workshops that celebrate the unity of art and culture. My practice continues to evolve as I explore the intersections of Ebru with other artistic disciplines, aiming to bring a fresh perspective to this ancient art form while preserving its soul.
